Nairobi-Samburu-Abedare-Lake Nakuru-Masai Mara

Day 1 – Nairobi

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by one of our local representatives and assisted for your transfer to the hotel. After check-in, the day is at your leisure.

Day 2 – Samburu

After an early breakfast at the hotel, you will continue your journey to Samburu. Today you will drive across the equator to Kenya's rugged north eastern region with lunch en route at a local restaurant. This semi-arid country is home to the great Ewaso Nyiro River which draws magnificent wildlife in great numbers. Make sure to keep an eye out for herds of impalas, grant gazelles and African buffalo as you enter the Samburu National Reserve. You will experience a game drive en route to your lodge.

Day 3 – Samburu

Today, after breakfast, you will embark on a morning and afternoon game drive along the Ewaso Nyrio River. Here you will be able to witness of the vast herds of plains game come for a drink at the water, brave lions in the grass, admire the leopards in the trees along with the giant crocodiles. The true stars of Samburu, not easily seen elsewhere, are the liver-red reticulated giraffe, the long-necked gerenuk antelope and the elegant Grevy zebra. You will have the opportunity to visit a local village during one of the game drives.

Day 4 – Abedare

Breakfast at the hotel this morning will be followed by a drive south towards Mt. Kenya. Lunch will be served upon arrival at your lodge. Transfer to the lodge vehicle to take part in the overnight gameviewing Treehotel , to watch ther wildlife drinking at the floodlit waterhole.

Day 5 – Lake Nakuru

This morning you will continue your journey down to the eastern escarpment to the wondrous Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National park, famous for their beautiful flamingos, via Nyaururu Falls. Lake Nakuru is home to a vast number of animals including the waterbuck, leopards, Rothschild giraffe and is also a sanctuary for black rhinos. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity for an exciting game drive.

Day 6 – Masai Mara

After breakfast, explore the Rift Valley and ascend its western rim into the Masai land. Dressed in Red and armed with a spear, Masai warriors tend to their herds of cattle among the wildlife, bravely unmoved by the presence of large predators. Home to the famous Masai giraffe, you will have the opportunity for an afternoon game drive in Mara, famous for its wildebeest and zebra migration among other abundant wildlife in the area.

Day 7 – Masai Mara

Get your cameras ready as today you will enjoy two game drives, all with spectacular photo opportunities. Blessed with a permanent water supply, Masai Mara has a steady population of plains game. Home to the 'big five' - elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and rhino are quite common for the area. A visit to a local village will be included during one of the game drives.

Day 8 – Depart

Depart for Nairobi where you will have a day room. Transfer to Carnivor restaurant for dinner. After a delicious meal, you will transfer to the airport for your flight home.
